London Poem: Day 167

31 January

The world sweat and bellows
To what we call common,
Let them watch and we will
Slip away into a fitful sleep.
The struggle and the world beyond
Knows no more that allowed to see
But, to feel blind strife and
To know you are not alone is
What love is –
That is why we sleep softly,
With everything crumbling
Around us, we can together,
Close our eyes and vanish.
