London Poem: Day 337

20 July

Home is here now, close,
So, I’m swimming in it,
But the short breath struggles,
And eventually slips away to
Wander in a softer world.
But, in this one, love still
Lives great swelling waves, and
Though little moves, the mind
Pushes it forward with small,
Galloping steps, still smiling;
Still breathing, but that is life –
Death finds space to breath in
The living’s heavy heart.
