London Poem: Day 288

1 June

I see the sea, hidden
Behind cloud and night,
I know it’s there.
The soft kiss of the air’s
Clammy lips arrests any fear
Of this being a farce.
The world mingles, bringing
The past to the now, and
Allowing this to feel as though
I’ve known it all along.
There is no use for the sun,
Our life gleams without it.
