London Poem: Day 261

5 May

A good distance,
A healthy one;
Far removed from the
Sleep reassurance of a life
Well worn.
Steps taken, hesitant,
To test the water,
Return frightened,
But not turned away.
So, it seems, though a
Brief taste returns,
More is wanted, but it comes
At such a cost,
To vanish from comfort, or
Rather, to find comfort vanish
From you, all to begin
A new life, without the
Hands of familiarity
To guide by.
