London Poem: Day 170

3 February

Everyone is wanting to be
Somewhere, or someone else.
Voices resound, sweeping
In to to merely dart out,
But what remains is the
Sweet deceiving images of
A life that could be.
To forget what shines
So close by staring so far,
The imagination eats away
At what matters –
Now, as what was becomes
Less than other people’s lives
Seem sweeter as they
Pull further away.
