London Poem: Day 156

20 January

The song, as we left
The garden, surely still
Hums in the hours after –
The life removed blanks a love
Regained. Though the swirling
Ambivalence of a world
Without limits, the
Unrelenting responsibilities
Weaving between the sounds of
A time far enough away to
Still be fond.
Out the door and into the night
To find the soft sound that
Calmed the still beating heart.
