London Poem: Day 132

27 December

I forgot the word,
Lifting in the cool notes
To high arching places;
The easy world without sound.
The day slipped away
Between the beats of rain,
Swept away along empty streets,
A whole world without words
To tell us how life feels.
A life of words for one
Who never has many,
And to vanish among still
Clinging glances
Eases the search for
Definition. At the moment
I am whole and without worry.
