London Poem: Day 123

18 December

We are both the living
And the dead, staggering
Between the sway of each.
When winds dip
Where will we lean?
Everything is intertwined –
Lined through locking
Fingers, inhaling and
Exhaling. Slowly wafting
Into great arching rafters.
We grow without warning,
And regress with thought
Allowing the world to
Withstand the pull on
Either side.
As you do for me.
