London Poem: Day 101

26 November

You forget by trying not to forget,
It’s fine,
The mind works in reverse sometimes.
From afar,
I cling to words said, and deeds done
Years ago,
But they flash as though they took
Place yesterday.
How do you see me gone, now that I
Lay spread over the horizon?
Memories are faint,
Dying in youth’s dying light.
I remember this,
And I’ll inevitably remember all of you.
