London Poem: Day 71

27 October

Where we are
Defies the lines drawn up
Long ago.
We step over them blindly,
Unknown to us that we even
Created such silly things.
Between you and I,
It’s mechanical:
Our dreams clink and crash,
Dance about with wild pulley systems.
Too stupid to see, and
Too stupid to know the difference,
So we prattle on.
More words than meaning,
Never hearing and never knowing.
