London Poem: Day 69

25 October

We lose time.
It’s in the bylaws
To stand and construct
That which we cannot control.
We’ll never lose time,
It’s ours, and ours alone.
Minute hands turn certainly.
They ping;
They are our heartbeats,
Moving until the move no more.
Why stare, why count the minutes down,
Or wish for more?
We are given what we want;
We have what we make.
