London Poem: Day 61

17 October

Remember me as I am now,
Before age comes and sweeps us away.
Remember me in youth,
When love is young,
And full of nervous anxiety;
When we dream of touch,
And dream of each other.
Time will surely unravel
The curious lure of early love,
But remember me when
Lust and color have yet to fade –
Yet, if you do,
And love’s jewels lose their sheen,
Remember now, and how love existed,
For only a moment,
And then can exist again.
