London Poem: Day 14

31 August

A life exists beyond our years.
Slim movements to where
We can go,
But does foresight hinder
The bitter tastes of today?
As rain begins to patter,
The residue lingers–
Speech becomes fragmented
As wind and water
Wash away what we hope to conceal.
Though, today, the sun sings in full,
Glowing above our sunny lull.
Today the future is a little more
Than the present will be tomorrow.
But, in soft arms there is
Reason to search for more.
