London Poem: Day 11

28 August

Two hearts gather absently,
But, with words.
Words, we learn,
Do not always create togetherness.
Time apart to grow closer–
The day wanes and we begin again.
Still, who suffers as the strife billows silently
Away from understanding?
Drawing tension in
As concepts collapse –
Still, all without words.
Fear exists in subtle motions
And measured steps,
To live,
Permanently behind thick walls.

  1. I am so happy I found this today. I love the line, “words, we learn, do not always create togetherness.” So true! Yet so simple, why did I not think of it?! As a writer and literary blogger, I thank you for sharing your gift.
